What are Florida High School Graduation Requirements?

Are you looking for complete list of Florida High School Graduation Requirements? You must check latest set of requirements for admissions of students who earned a standard high school diploma. To be eligible for admissions; A high school student must have successfully earned a minimum of 24 credits and a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) to graduate and participate in state tests.


Florida Diploma Options

All students must successfully complete one of the following diploma options as per the Florida High School Graduation Requirements:

  • 24-credit standard diploma
  • 18-credit Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL)
  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway
  • Advanced International Certificate of Education(AICE) curriculum
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma curriculum

Florida State Assessment Requirements

Students are required to pass the following statewide assessments:
  • Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) or a concordant score
  • Algebra 1 end of course (EOC) or a comparative score


All students enrolled in below listed courses must participate in the corresponding EOC assessment, which constitutes 30 percent of the final course grade+:
  • Algebra 1
  • Geometry
  • Biology 1
  • U.S. History

Difference between the 18-credit ACCEL option and the 24-credit option

  • 3 elective credits instead of 8
  • Physical Education is not required
  • Online course is not required

What is 24 Credit Standard Diploma?

As per the high school graduation requirements in Florida State, a student will get credit as per the below listed criteria.

  • Language/ Arts: 4 credits
  • Mathematics: 4 credits
  • Science: 3 credits
  • Social Studies: 3 credits
  • Fine and Performing Arts, Speech and Debate, or Practical Arts: 1 credit
  • Physical Education: 1 credit
  • Elective Courses: 8 credits
