In "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," the story is based on the third and final book of Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games" trilogy. At the end of the movie, several significant events take place:
Rescue of Peeta and other tributes: Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist, becomes the symbol of the rebellion against the oppressive Capitol. She agrees to be the Mockingjay, the face of the rebellion. One of her main objectives is to rescue her fellow tribute, Peeta Mellark, who was captured by the Capitol. The rebels successfully launch a rescue mission to extract Peeta and other captured tributes.
Destruction of District 13: District 13, believed to have been destroyed by the Capitol during the previous rebellion, is revealed to be underground and fully operational. It becomes the base of operations for the rebellion, led by President Alma Coin. They plan their strategy to overthrow President Snow and the Capitol.
Bombing of District 13's hospital: In an attempt to undermine the rebellion, President Snow orders a devastating bombing of a hospital in District 13. This attack is designed to target the injured and innocent civilians. The bombing strengthens Katniss' resolve to bring down Snow and the Capitol.
Katniss' decision to kill President Snow: As the rebellion gains momentum, Katniss becomes determined to personally assassinate President Snow. She wants to take revenge for the suffering he has inflicted on the districts and her loved ones. This sets the stage for the final installment of the series, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2."
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" ends with Katniss setting off for the Capitol, prepared to face danger and uncertainty as she takes on her role as the Mockingjay and fights for the freedom of Panem.
