Chile recently lifted most of its COVID-19 restrictions meaning entering the country is much simpler than before. Here's a breakdown of the current situation:
- No more mandatory PCR tests or vaccination certificates: You won't need to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test to enter Chile.
- Open borders: Several border crossings are open for tourists including major airports in Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta, and Punta Arenas.
- General precautions: While there are no mandatory health measures, it's always a good idea to be mindful of general public health recommendations, such as wearing masks in crowded places and washing hands frequently.
As of May 9th, the Protected Borders Plan has been lifted. Consequently, the requirement for a PCR test and random testing upon entry to Chile has been abolished. A valid vaccination certificate will no longer be necessary for entry into Chile.
